Well the snow birds have arrived in full force for the winter. Waikiki Beach was packed on Sunday! Can’t blame anyone for wanting to spend Christmas here in 80 degree weather. By the way, there’s surf! Waves are 1-2 ft (Hawaiian scale). Looks like a short period swell with lots of waves to go around. Santa delivered a little something for all the townies. It was very hot today. If you could get a hold of an empty umbrella it was worth every penny renting it. Snow birds looking for some relief from the snow back east. Christmas in Hawaii. …

Girl’s Day 12.20.15

The ladies dominated the lineup today. Not much surf, maybe knee high but if ya have a tank there are some fun rollers to be had. It’s a blustery day with passing squalls. If I were you I’d pass on the surf and finish (or start) your Xmas shopping. That where I’m headed now. A 12’0 is a good board to have today. Or a SUP. The sandbar between Queens and Canoes. This is where all the sand from the eroding beach goes. Waiting. Inside sandbar after the sun came out. Gonna need to paddle hard for these ankle snappers.

Waikiki Gloom 12.18.15

Well it’s rainy and crazy windy here in Hawaii. 20-30 mph with 45 mph gusts this weekend! Surf was flat in Waikiki, maybe ankle high on the sets so you’re better off doing your Christmas shopping this weekend. Don’t forget, there’s only 7 days till Xmas! Waikiki was a lake today! Don’t let these photos fool you. It’s crazy windy. The large hotels block most of the winds here. The pathway to the iconic Kapahulu Groin.
